Cedar Breaks Wild Flowers

Cedar Breaks is a national momument east of Cedar City. To get there you simply follow Rte. 14 east until you hit Rte. 148, and then you go left. While this national monument is best know for the rock formations in its spectacular amplitheatre, there is plenty of natural beauty on a much smaller scale to be found here also. Along the Alpine Pond Trail is a stunning collection of wild flowers. Shown here is Parry Primrose, one of the many varieties of wild flowers to be found along the trail.

Kolob Canyon Vista

One view of Kolob Canyon from the short trail at the end of the drive that leads into the canyon. Kolob Canyon is a little visited part of Zion National Park. If you are staying in Cedar City and have a couple of hours it is well worth the short trip to check out the scenery.
